Rock Lake

Bigger than a shed
but not quite a camp! I learned something new, in Michigan we call our
weekend
up up-north get-away's, cottages. In Canada, you don't go to the "cottage"
you go to "camp"!

WW1 Memorial Blanket
on Exhibit - Bruce Mines Historical Museum

At the historical museum
in Bruce Mines, cousin Chris undrapes a "Red Cross" blanket
sewn
by her grandmother, Myrtle Mitchell-Bussineau, during World War 1. This
blanket has the
names of many towns people from that time. A closer view below shows an
area where our family's names were signed.

Names of Dixon, McDonald,
Foster, Mills, Coward, Bussineau and McPhea can be seen.
Great Aunt Myrtle handstitched each person who donated to the Red Cross
onto this
memorial blanket. Mr. Joe Bussineau, her father-in-law, Mack, Angus and
Stella Bussineau names appear.
