The above map details the St. Mary's river front land owners and families living on said river in the year 1846. The Boissonneau family is detailed in a yellow highlight. Many of these families were from the famous contingent of voyageurs who took part in the War of 1812 and recieved land from the military for the aid rendered. These families are the founders of Sault Ste. Marie. Joseph Boissonneau and his oldest son, Joseph, lived next to each other.
